The Gist
Abhay loses his wife to cancer and is left alone to fend and bring up his only son. The backstory of their love and marriage, her death is written very sensitively.
Sheetal a transgender enters his life as a caretaker who takes over taking care of her son. But her gender and her relationship status poses questions to the society they live in which keeps forcing Abhay to throw her out of the job.
Will he succumb to the society pressure or will he accept Sheetal for what she is and stand by her?
Read the story to find out.
.
The story of this book revolves around two main characters, the first being Abhay and the second is Sheetal, now it's not a love story but a story that will teach you about love and you will love some people whom you have ignored or heated for the most of your life.
The story that has touched my heart. Ended really well. I was happy by that. But I wanted to read more and more about Sheetal, Ayush and Abhay. It happens just when you completely imbibe into the book when writing is flawless and characters are strongly crafted and off course when the story has the strong element.
Here, sheetal, the main protagonist of the story. Society makes her life difficult to live but then there are few people come up to support her. And yeah, Abhay is one of them, actually a real hero.
I am amazed how he articulates each and every emotion in words, thatโs marvelous. An Unexpected Gift is a beautiful story on a totally different subject.
An unexpected gift is a ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ for everyone. There's not a single reason to avoid such a simple but eye-opening read.It will definitely change your perspective towards Transgenders. You will be get so attached to Sheetal that her emotions, struggles & feelings will become your own.Book doesn't lose it's pace even on a single sentence (literally).
My Rating
