The book's title initially piqued my interest, leading me to believe it would be a collection of amusing anecdotes from a policemanโs tenure. However, I was disappointed. While the book is approximately 180 pages long, I struggled to continue beyond 90-100 pages. Unfortunately, the humour did not resonate with me, as it primarily consisted of juvenile pranksโsuch as hiding and startling someone, hiding someoneโs belongings, and hanging a friendโs bicycle on a tree. And then, throwing pebbles at someoneโs head โ and that, too, during IPS training (I mean, seriously?) โ felt more immature than genuinely witty.
There are various kinds of humour: well-crafted, intelligent comedy and simplistic, slapstick humour. Unfortunately, this book falls into the latter category. Nevertheless, the writing is straightforward and accessible, making it a suitable read for beginners. Those who enjoy shows like The Kapil Sharma Show and Comedy Circus may find this book entertaining. However, readers like me, who prefer refined and creative humour, might want to skip it. I genuinely tried to finish it, but it simply wasnโt for me. My review is based on the 90-100 pages I read.
My Rating:
1/5
