Date My Bryson Keller by Kevin Van Whye is an absolute gem of a novel that effortlessly blends heart, humour, and authenticity. From the first page to the last, I was utterly captivated by the charming and heartfelt journey of Kai Sheridan and Bryson Keller.

The premise of the book is refreshingly unique: Bryson, the popular boy at school, takes on a dare to date anyone who asks him out for a week. When shy and closeted Kai asks him on a whim, neither of them expects the profound impact this week-long relationship will have on their lives.

The writing of Van Whye paints a vivid picture of high school life and the challenges of accepting one's identity. The characters are wonderfully fleshed out, with Kai's internal struggles and growth depicted with sensitivity and realism. Bryson, too, is more than just the stereotypical popular kid; he is kind-hearted, supportive, and just as surprised by his feelings as Kai is.
This book deals with important subjects, such as homophobia and outings, but even in those moments, I found myself loving where the story was going. The author was able to talk about sensitive subjects in such a good way that made me wish there were more books like this one.
I loved all the conversations about sexuality that Bryson and Kai had. The way Bryson is open to listening and understanding made my heart melt. The sweet relationship that developed on the page made me so happy. Whether they stay just friends or start a love story is up to you to discover, but know that I would have loved this book in both directions. Everyone needs a friend and a boyfriend like Bryson in their life. The romance between Kai and Bryson is beautifully developed, filled with sweet, tender moments that will melt your heart. Their journey is not just about falling in love but also about self-discovery, acceptance, and the courage to be true to oneself. What truly sets this book apart is its honest and positive representation of LGBTQ+ relationships. It is a story that needs to be told, providing a beacon of hope and encouragement to readers who may see themselves in Kaiโ€™s shoes.

The writing style is excellent, and the language is very easy to understand. The narration makes the book fast-paced and engaging. All the characters are well-developed and do justice to their roles, adding depth and richness to the story. Yazz (Kai's Sis) is probably my favourite supporting character. She is so fiercely loyal to Kai, and I love that. The sisters in this book were fantastic, adding depth and warmth to the story.

In conclusion, It's an uplifting and heartwarming read that will stay with you long after you've turned the last page. It's a must-read for a feel-good romance with depth and meaning. Highly recommended!
