This collection of eight to ten short stories explores women's hidden desires in various situations and mindsets, all within the realm of dark romance. While the plots are distinct from one another, I found it challenging to connect with or favour any particular story, as the narratives didn't fully resonate with me. Although the diversity in themes is commendable, the overall appeal of the plots fell short of my expectations.

As a female reader, I found the portrayal of the female leads somewhat lacking strength. When a character engages in what she has described as 'sinful,' there should be a compelling justification for her actions, which I felt was missing here. The female characters appeared weak, which diminished the impact of the stories.

The first story centers around Shruti and Raj, a couple who seem perfect on the surface, though their relationship has been faltering. A surprise visit from Raj's friend, Arjun, leads Shruti to quickly develop a sexual attraction to him. Their instant connection is a prime example of what I would describe as a weak female lead. Another story features Nisha and Rakesh (husband & wife), where Nisha meets Ankit at a weekend house party. Ankit bets Rakesh 10 lakh rupees that he can seduce Nisha, and by the next day, Nisha is involved with Ankit. Again, the female character's actions felt underdeveloped and lacking in strength. These narratives left me wanting more depth and complexity in the portrayal of the female leads. The language is simple, making it accessible even to novice readers, but the writing style could have been more refined. In erotica, word choice and synonyms are crucial to maintaining an evocative tone without feeling shabby. Several terms within dark romance could have been used to elevate the reading experience.

While I was not entirely disappointed, I didn't find the book particularly enjoyable either. I may not be the target audience for this genre. However, those who appreciate erotica and dark romance, or those new to the genre, may find it appealing. It's a fast-paced, easy read. I like the book cover.

My Rating:

3/5
