The narrative revolves around Kabir and Noosh, two central characters. Kabir, a dynamic and youthful travel journalist, finds himself in Afghanistan for a particular project, but his true motive is to reunite with Noosh - the love of his life. Noosh, a bright and spirited woman, has known Kabir since their college days. Her hometown is plagued by political turmoil, and she eagerly awaits the arrival of Kabir, her prince charming and the man she has always dreamed of.
Kabir's world turns upside down when his role model, Professor Sizov, presents him with a covert project. Unbeknownst to him, Kabir becomes entangled in a vast conspiracy that sets the stage for war and threatens to destroy everything he holds dear. Despite facing multiple betrayals, Kabir vows to fight back and protect the love that strengthens him.
In addition to exploring the theme of love, this book delves into the turbulent political climate of Afghanistan, marked by internal conflicts, insurgent activity, and foreign intervention. The city is under siege, and everything is crumbling around Kabir and Noosh. With a curfew in effect, they are trapped, unable to escape the violence and bloodshed that plagues the streets. In this war zone, the loss is inevitable; the only option is to flee the country.

Although the book features a compelling love story set against a backdrop of political turmoil and threats, the plot construction is lacking. While the initial chapters flowed smoothly and kept me engaged, the later portions were a bit of a mess. The narrative seemed disjointed, with events unfolding at breakneck speed, making it difficult for me to keep up. Additionally, the characters were not well fleshed out, and it would have been beneficial to develop them more thoroughly alongside the plot. The writing style is simple and easy to follow, making it accessible for beginners, but the overall execution fell short of my expectations. Despite this, the book provided a refreshing departure from my usual genre preferences.

My Rating:

3/5
