The story begins intriguingly, centered around Ankita, a BPO employee mysteriously found dead just a day before her engagement, and her brother, Aniket, who goes missing after heading to Gurugram for a job interview. While the police investigation appears lackluster, the plot takes readers through many unexpected twists and turns.

Since itโ€™s a thriller, Iโ€™ll keep the storyline details to a minimum to avoid spoilers, but I will say the book is engaging and well-paced. The language is accessible, making it a good choice for readers of all levels, especially beginners. The narration is notably strongโ€”this being my third book by the author, I find this one has a noticeable improvement in storytelling flow. The pacing varies, with some sections moving fast while others slow slightly due to some long dialogues, but overall, it keeps the reader hooked.
While not particularly deep, the characters play their roles well and contribute to a cohesive storyline. Now, you may be wondering why, with a solid plot, intriguing twists, accessible language, and improved narration, I rated it three stars. As an avid thriller fan, I found myself guessing the main twist around the 75th page, which took away some of the suspense. Despite this, I continued reading to see how the story unfolded and noticed minor plot inconsistencies.

Nevertheless, the book has plenty of twists that many readers will enjoy, and itโ€™s an excellent recommendation for new readers who appreciate thrillers. The plot takes a different direction from the typical thriller, and the unique climax is a testament to thisโ€”one that, for me, was just a bit too easy to spot.

My Rating:

3.5/5
