Digyen Bumrah, an intelligent corporate spy who lost his job recently, is approached by Deepak Bhide, whose wife and colleague disappeared under mysterious circumstances on a tour. Even her company is searching for her. A thrilling journey to find the lost lady leads to some shocking revelations and stuff like income tax raids, hawala transactions, corporate fraud, etc.
The Hawala Agent sheds light on how money can be transported across borders without physically being moved. It also describes the activities that the money is used for. As well as how women are exploited ( women trafficking). The author has woven an intriguing tale around the hawala system.
This novel portrays all its characters well, especially the main protagonist, Digyen Burmah. You will learn new terms and words as you read this book. The language is lucid, but there are some new words. There are a lot of concepts other than Hawala explained in detail in the book which makes the whole thing easier to understand. The narration is quite captivating. Due to its thrilling & gripping plotline, you will enjoy every page thoroughly. The story unfolds like a suspense thriller with a lot of twists and turns. It is a well-written story. Nothing unnecessary was added to it. Overall, a great read.
