"The Perfect Payback" captivates with its riveting tale of vengeance. With two parts packed with unexpected twists and turns, this book delivers a gripping revenge thriller experience. True to its title, it unfolds as a meticulously crafted narrative of retribution, showcasing Kerketta's skilful storytelling prowess.
In the first part, the focus is on Suyash and his girlfriend Kanika. This section also delves into Suyash's past experiences and struggles. It offers a compelling narrative that delves into various societal issues, including disturbing themes such as child abuse and murder. This segment presents an intriguing yet unsettling exploration of these dark realities within society.
The second part revolves around Govind and Shalini, who were childhood sweethearts leading a dreamy life until Shalini's father discovers their relationship. This revelation takes the story on a brutal turn for the childhood sweethearts.
Both segments commence with a beautiful love story filled with promises, only to evolve into something starkly different. The narrative intricately explores both the positive and negative facets of human nature. Amidst the tumult of past revelations, Suyash's life unveils further complexities. His bond with Govind and Rishab, his sole friends after enduring personal turmoil, intertwines their fates. Before their adversaries could catch wind of it, a perfect Payback was meticulously planned and executed using unwitting pawns to execute a flawless strategy amid chaos.
This gripping read will enthral fans of suspense and mystery, keeping them on edge until the end with its suspenseful plot. While the storytelling and pace are commendable, there are moments where Kanika's character feels somewhat irksome and some details seem unnecessary, leading me to rate it four stars. Nevertheless, I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a riveting tale of love, betrayal, and satisfying retribution.
