The story unfolds amidst the picturesque backdrop of Switzerland, offering glimpses into various other cities as well. Centred around Raj and Sofia's journey together, the narrative delicately traces their path towards a blossoming relationship. Raj hails from a middle-class Indian family whose life takes a thrilling turn when he secures an internship in Switzerland. Excitement and happiness fill him as he prepares for the journey. In Geneva, he meets Sofia, a German student pursuing her studies there. Over time, Raj's feelings for Sofia grow deeper as he spends more time with her.
At the end of the story, unexpected twists emerge just as everything seems to be falling into place.
The language in the book is simple, while the narration is decent, though not outstanding. I found the storytelling more akin to an essay than a captivating narrative. The characters are somewhat likeable, but they lack depth in their development. It feels as though the author rushed to conclude the book quickly, with the major events unfolding within a mere two-month span. There is limited room for character growth within such a short timeframe. As I mentioned, the book reads more like an essay. What I particularly appreciate about it is the author's vivid descriptions of the beauty of Switzerland. This romance novel follows a Bollywood-style plot, ideal for fans of that genre or newcomers to such stories.
My Rating:
2/5
