"When Strangers Meet" by K. Hari Kumar revolves around three individuals: Jai, Iyer, and Hussain. Jai and Hussain hail from North India, while Krishna Prasath Iyer is a Tamilian, making him a South Indian. The central focus of the story centres on Jai, a determined teenager who has recently finished high school and harbours aspirations of pursuing a successful career in the Film Industry. However, his father insists that he study engineering, leading to a clash of desires. Refusing to comply, Jai makes a difficult decision to leave home, leaving a heartfelt letter behind, urging his family not to search for him and assuring them that he will be fine wherever he goes.
As Jai finds himself at a metro station, contemplating his uncertain future, he encounters two strangers, one of whom possesses the power to challenge his carefree outlook on life. Thus, commences the true essence of the narrative.

The story is exceptionally well-crafted, unfolding with a gripping plot that holds the reader's attention until the very end. The narrative captivates, urging the reader to eagerly turn each page, unwilling to pause until the story concludes. The structural design of the story is praiseworthy, skillfully interweaving the lives of three individuals and their enduring struggles over time, eventually leading to a fateful convergence. The language employed in the story is both straightforward and easily comprehensible, harmonizing perfectly with the diverse cast of characters. In addition to the compelling storyline, I was particularly delighted by the unexpected twist that emerges in the latter part of the book, significantly transforming the narrative. The climax proves to be intriguing, providing a satisfying and fitting resolution to the story.
